Show your solidarity with the reproductive rights of individuals in the US and around the world by wearing a small pin, a scarlet letter A. For a donation of $20, you will receive a pin, made of soft enamel on metal, to wear as a symbol of shared determination to maintain rights to bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom. The entire amount of your donation will be sent to clinics providing abortions in states neighboring those where abortions have been criminalized. The aim of the Scarlet Letter (Pin) Project through The Survival Project is to maintain safe abortions as an option for all.

How to receive your pin

To receive your pin from The Scarlet Letter (Pin) Project, go to the donate page and make a donation of $20 dollars or more and we will send a pin for you. Be sure to include your mailing address under “Additional Information” when donating so we can ship you your pin. We can only ship to addresses in North America.

Your donation of $20+ will be immediately sent to support clinics providing abortions in states neighboring those where abortions have been criminalized.

About the Project

The Scarlet Letter pin symbolizes shared experience and support. It is an emblem of solidarity in the face of endless attacks on the autonomy of people who can become pregnant over their own bodies. It is a sign for those who know its meaning and an object of curiosity for those who don’t. It will show our strength and numbers.

Originally conceptualized in 1995 by artist Terry Berkowitz, this project breaks through the silence, guilt, and shame forced on many of us by an uncaring society. It allows people to openly deal with the events that touched them deeply, to understand that we are not alone, that there are millions just like us, and to identify ourselves and those who support us.

The Scarlet Letter (Pin) Project presents the possibility of recognizing and acknowledging those who are with us. Enjoy your pin and display it as a symbol of shared determination to maintain our rights to bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom.

Where your donation goes

Donations are currently going to clinics in New Mexico, Kansas, and Colorado. Please contact us directly at info@TheSurvivalProjectUSA.com for specific information about individual clinics. The political landscape is changing fast. We will stay responsive to both states and clinics that urgently need support.

For the first phase of The Scarlet Letter (Pin) Project, the full amount of all donations will be sent to clinics that aid in making abortions available in areas of the US where access had been criminalized. The aim is to maintain safe abortions as an option for all.
